The Background: After dedicating nearly 20 years to a private hospital, the renowned oncologist resigned to take up a role at another institution. Following his departure, his former employer filed a criminal complaint, accusing him of forging a signature on an experience certificate—a document the doctor already had undeniable proof of and didn't actually need. Even though the police investigated and filed a closure report citing no evidence, the hospital continued to drag the doctor through the courts. The Court's Powerful Stance: Justice M. Nagaprasanna strongly criticized the hospital for using criminal prosecution as a tool for retaliation in an inter-hospital dispute. The court noted that it was "appalling" to accuse a dedicated doctor of forging proof of experience that the institution itself had witnessed and benefited from for two decades. Cancelling the case, the judge stated that forcing a highly reputed doctor to undergo a trial for such a baseless and improbable claim would be an abuse of the law and a "miscarriage of justice." The Takeaway: Criminal law cannot be used as a weapon to vent institutional anger or pressure doctors for switching jobs. This ruling is a massive victory for healthcare professionals, proving that the justice system will step in to shield honest healers from frivolous harassment. Thousands of students are completely shocked today. Their NEET PG rank is not making sense to them. The number of correct answers they calculated using recalls does not match their actual result, and they just can't understand how there can be such a discrepancy.
