EXCLUSIVE: There are no official plans for “Futurama” to return as a regular series after its Season 14 revival, but creator Matt Groening says “we’ve come to an end many times before” and still found new ways to return:
“They can put us in a coffin. They can nail the lid shut, but they can’t bury us. We will rise again,” creator Matt Groening tells Variety. “We’ve been in this situation many times before. We have lots more stories to tell. The animators and the actors and the writers all would love to do more stories and we’ll see. You never know.”
In the meantime, Hulu will release three “Futurama” specials (dubbed “XXXL-Sized”), kicking off in 2027 with a Christmas-related installment.

I really don’t care too much about comic book accuracy. I care about the changes being thought-out, additive, and thematically meaningful as opposed to being just lip-service, reactionary, and for a moment. Change should reckoned with. Lanterns primarily succeeds in this.

Agree on that- His art was insanely loaded w energy but, a lot of discipline goes into achieving and sustaining that tone. Excess is a very narrow target and most cannot hit it. That is way there has only been one Ken Russell.

"Children of Blood and Bone" author Tomi Adeyemi vows "never" to turn her books into movies again after her experience on the "Blood and Bone" set, which she previously called “the worst thing I have ever had to live through.
“With a film, the director makes every decision. With my book I can talk about every choice down to the commas, because that’s truly in my hands. So there’s nothing for me to add, other than the clarity that these aren’t my choices,” the author told The Guardian about opposing the film adaptation.

The whole point is one side (Japan) is making the serious movies while the other side (US) is doing the cheesy ones. It goes back and forth. Japan once made Godzilla movies with black hole generators and cockroach aliens. It’s perfect for Godzilla fans because everyone’s happy.
