Every child with OCD deserves the chance to live life on their own terms. 🩵 On October 1, IOCDF is releasing a new white paper focused on pediatric OCD, bringing together important information, insights, and resources for children with OCD and the families who support them. Throughout OCD Awareness Week in October, we’ll be sharing more from the white paper, along with facts about pediatric OCD, helpful resources, and perspectives from the OCD community. Stay tuned for the full launch on October 1. 🩵

“OCD is an isolating and scary thing...” Comedian and podcast host Jake Shane recently opened up about his experience with OCD on The Drew Barrymore Show, sharing what it can feel like to live with OCD and the importance of feeling seen. We’re grateful to Jake for speaking openly about his experience. Every person who shares their story helps challenge misconceptions about OCD and reminds others in the community that they aren’t alone. 🩵

We need YOUR help to turn landmarks teal for OCD Awareness Week, October 11–17! 🩵🌍 When a landmark lights up teal, it sends a powerful message: "we see you." OCD isn’t a quirk or a habit. It’s a serious mental health condition affecting 1 in 40 adults in the U.S. The more visible OCD becomes, the more opportunities we have to challenge stigma, raise awareness, and help people recognize what OCD can really look like. That’s visibility. #ThatsOCD 🩵 Check out the Lighting Guide and reach out to venues in your community and beyond 👉 bit.ly/4xFVklE

We are weeks away from OCD Awareness Week 2026! From October 11-17, we’re challenging common misconceptions about OCD and highlighting experiences that often go unrecognized or misunderstood. OCD can look like intrusive thoughts about harming someone you love, fearing you might secretly be a bad person, questioning your relationship or identity, replaying conversations, silently repeating words until they feel “right,” seeking reassurance, checking your body for signs of illness, or avoiding triggers. These experiences can look very different, but they can all be OCD. 👉 Share a photo, video, reel, or story featuring a personal “That’s OCD” example, and use #ThatsOCD and #OCDWeek to join the conversation throughout OCD Awareness Week.
