#ONStorm #ONwx Ontario’s 2026 Fall Colour Tracker has arrived! 🍂🍁 VIEW HERE: instantweatherinc.com/ontari… This year, we’ve made some big improvements to our fall colour dashboard and introduced the new IW Fall Colour Score, which factors in both colour change and leaf fall to help you find the best parks for your autumn adventures! The score ranges from 0 to 100, with 0 indicating a poor viewing experience and 100 representing the best viewing experience. As a park approaches peak colours, its score will climb closer to 100. Once more leaves begin to fall, the score will gradually drop back toward 0. We hope this makes it easier to quickly see which parks are offering the best fall colours at any given time. If you’re planning an early fall colour adventure this weekend, some of the best parks to check out include: 🍂 Lake Superior - North (Northeastern Ontario): 70% colour change and 0% leaf fall. 🍁 Algonquin (Central Ontario): 70% colour change and 10% leaf fall. 🍂 Arrowhead (Central Ontario): 50% colour change and 10% leaf fall. Keep in mind that our tracker uses reports from Ontario Parks, and this data isn’t updated daily for every park. That means the colours could be further along in your area if a nearby park hasn’t reported in a few days. Be sure to check out our dashboard linked above, where you can see how recently each park’s data was updated before planning your trip. #ONStorm #ONwx 🌬️ CONFIRMED: The Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) has now rated the powerful downburst that hit Toronto during the September 2 severe weather outbreak. The downburst struck the Downsview area of North York around 5 PM, with damage rated at EF0 and estimated maximum winds of 125 km/h. According to the NTP, damage was found along an area approximately 7.1 km long and up to 2.8 km wide. Damage included homes, apartment buildings and trees, along with temporary structures at Rogers Stadium. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The NTP noted that damage to the temporary structures at the concert venue could not be rated using the EF scale, so the EF0 rating is based on other damage documented during their ground survey. There were also isolated reports of damage from the same storm in Brampton and Woodbridge, although the NTP says there wasn’t enough evidence to confirm separate events in those areas. The NTP says the storm appears to have been a large, hail-producing high-precipitation supercell that was dominated by outflow at the surface while over Toronto. That same supercell would go on to produce two weak tornadoes in New York State within the following two hours. This was all part of the significant severe weather outbreak that swept across Southern Ontario on September 2, producing multiple tornadoes and several areas of damaging downbursts. - Brennen

#ONStorm #ONwx If you were up early this morning across Central Ontario, you definitely got a taste of fall-like temperatures, with some areas flirting with the freezing mark. 🥶🍂 It even dropped below freezing around the Algonquin Park area! Hopefully all the campers managed to stay warm this morning. Tomorrow morning could bring another chilly start, although the latest data suggests temperatures will be a few degrees warmer, so we shouldn’t see the same below-freezing temperatures as this morning. It’ll still dip into the low to mid single digits in some areas, so be prepared for a chilly morning if you’re out camping this weekend! It’s certainly a sign of things to come, with fall officially arriving on Tuesday.
