#ChicagoGolf#Idlewild
Stunning evening here at Idlewild. #Whitesox on , #Cubs tonight , this is a perfect spot to catch a drink and watch our Cubs Sox Ryder cup.
Good luck to both teams in the post season
For #Chicago golfers , on this first day of #Autumn , why do you play golf where you do ? Have you ever considered joining a club? What is holding you back ?
My own story - was a member at Calumet CC after playing Ravisloe on Saturday. I just didn’t want to go home yet with a friend. We stopped at CCC. 2 weeks later , I joined. When that became public 19 of us went south in Dixie Highway to Idlewild
When playing it as a prospective member in 19’, we had 3 groups of guys buy us beers and say they hoped we joined. That sold me. Idlewild has a very strong community. If you like to play , move fast-ish , and generally are a nice guy - you will fit right in.
There’s a private golf club about 25 miles south of downtown Chicago that dates back to 1908.
It has a connection to William Langford, a classic Chicago golf architect.
Most #Chicago golfers have probably never played it.
Let’s talk about Idlewild. 🧵
