So the Bitcoin collateral vault on @ZestProtocol just went live and you now deposit BTC on Bitcoin L1 and borrow USDC on ethereum against it. I spent a few minutes navigating the feature and it was a very a simple experience. I was able to deposit up to $37 worth of $BTC and borrow 11 USDC all using my mobile device. Also available for PC and all devices. Amongst all, I enjoyed their Clear borrowing limits. Zest Protocol shows the collateral value, health factor, available-to-borrow amount, max LTV, and liquidation threshold before users could proceed. Just tested @ZestProtocol’s borrowing flow and this is a very interesting direction for BTC. Zest is turning Bitcoin into productive capital without forcing users to wrap or bridge it. Your BTC stays on Bitcoin L1 while you can borrow USDC and tap into liquidity on Ethereum. The experience itself was smooth. The only slow part was waiting for BTC to land in the wallet, which can take up to 30 minutes. What impressed me most was the security checks throughout the process and the cross chain setup. Using BTC as collateral while accessing liquidity on Ethereum feels like a strong use case for unlocking more utility from Bitcoin. You can also withdraw your funds whenever you want, which makes the whole experience feel much more flexible. The video below shows exactly how you can test it and partake in it yourself.

Nnanyereugo comes from Nna nyere ugo: •Nna - father •Nyere - gave or bestowed •Ugo - literally “eagle,” but symbolically honour, excellence, prestige or glory in Igbo culture.  The title means “the Father has bestowed honour”. It recognises me as a man honoured first by God, the ultimate Father, and through my earthly father, from whom this honour and legacy were passed down to me. In Igbo culture, a chieftaincy title is a call to greater responsibility: to serve your people, uphold the values of your community and use your influence to create opportunities for others.
