Just a little update as far as what you will see here from this current moment, up through the beginning part of the season: - Recruiting Wednesday: Hopefully every Wednesday, may end up being every other Wednesday, depending on activity. I'll give an update on who has either committed or who has gotten an offer to the best of my ability. Hopefully without too many errors. - Roster Previews: I will give previews on each player from each Indiana college basketball roster starting on August 3rd, leading up to the beginning of the season. This will include head coaches on a separate post through the week. - Schedule Updates: Once the teams actually release their schedules (non-conference and conference), I will go through a do a bit of a review for each. Not 100% what I'm doing for that yet, but that will be closer to the beginning of the season. - Arena Previews: Give quick overviews of each home arena that these teams play in throughout the season - AI Predictions vs Kenpom Predictions: I know...people don't like AI, I will not be creating content using AI. This is mainly for my interest. I will be seeing which program (ChatGPT, Meta, Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, and Gemini) is the best at predicting game outcomes, and I will be putting that here for those who are interested. This will happen when the season starts. - NBA Roster Updates: I will do my best to give updates as far as who has NBA contracts, and where. The NAIA, which runs a bit differently than the NCAA, allows regular season competition to begin on October 22nd, a little over a week prior to the start of basketball season at the Division 1 level.

The official beginning of the DIII basketball season is on November 8th!

Unless playing in an earlier classics or tip offs on October 30th to November 1st, the Division II regular season begins on November 9th.

The official start of the Division 1 basketball season begins with Notre Dame vs Villanova, on November 1st, in Rome

Valparaiso Basketball Head Coach - Roger Powell Jr. - Coach Powell played college basketball at Illinois, where he was able to score over 1,000 points in the four seasons he played in Champaign. He had professional stints at different teams, and scored his only NBA points with the Utah Jazz. - After Powell was done playing, he became an assistant for the then Crusaders under Bryce Drew from 2011 to 2016, where he then followed him to Vanderbilt until 2019 where he was the associate head coach. - Roger then joined Mark Few at Gonzaga as an assistant, before being hired on at Valparaiso in 2023, where so far, every season has been a solid improvement from finish 7-25 in year one, to 18-15 in year three. #BeaconUp
