Rush Limbaugh once said that most sports journalists, reporters, and media personalities were just failed liberal news graduates who couldn’t make it in the actual news department. He was right.
From @TheAthletic: If the Indiana Fever ever wants to go back to being a basketball team, Sophie Cunningham has to go, our columnist writes. "Cunningham is too combustible, her takes too turbulent to be paired with Caitlin Clark."  nyti.ms/4eiBPJ0

She’s going to become the less feminine Myles Turner isn’t she?
Listening to Kelsey Mitchell's exit interview, I couldn't help but laugh a little. Not because what she's describing isn't difficult. I'm sure it is. But I continue to believe that one of the biggest adjustments happening in the WNBA right now is that these women are learning what it's like to play in a genuinely relevant, heavily scrutinized professional sports league. KM talked about how hard it is being a Fever player. About waking up every day and giving your best, only for your best to not be enough for some people. And my lifelong sports-fan reaction was basically: Well...yeah. 😅 Ask an NFL kicker who misses a 38-yarder to lose a playoff game how many fans appreciate that he "gave his best." Ask an NBA point guard who goes 3-for-17 in Game 7. Ask an Iowa QB after three straight three-and-outs. 😅 She talked about how hard it is "showing up every day to compete for fans that may or may not like you." Kelsey... Sports fans have disliked players ON THEIR OWN TEAM since approximately 15 minutes after sports were invented. 😂 Iowa fans can love the Hawkeyes with every molecule in their bodies while simultaneously demanding that somebody be benched, fired, or launched directly into the sun. That's SPORTS. 😅 And I've never seen a professional sports league collectively so consumed by social media discourse. Players talk about tweets. Coaches talk about tweets. Reporters ask players about tweets. Other players respond to those comments. ESPN discusses the response. Then somebody's podcast discusses ESPN discussing the response to the response. 😂 Caitlin Clark didn't invent obnoxious sports fans. She brought an enormous number of mainstream sports fans into a league that had never experienced this level of attention and scrutiny before. And THAT'S the distinction. What they're experiencing may genuinely be new for the WNBA. It is absolutely NOT new for professional sports. Fans second-guess you. Fans criticize you. Fans irrationally blame you for losses. Fans love the superstar more than they love you. Fans scream that you should pass her the damn ball. Fans demand trades. Fans say stupid shit on the internet. Welcome to big-time sports! You've made it! 😅 For decades the WNBA wanted more attention. Bigger audiences. Packed arenas. Better TV ratings. More money. More relevance. Well... Mainstream sports relevance comes with mainstream sports bullshit. 😂

Think of all the money we’re saving by having him as the coach and those CFP incentives.
Since everyone on X is firing coaches tonight, figured this was as good a time as any to post this. Before you start packing Jeff Brohm’s office, you might want to take a look at what Louisville just committed to in April. 👀💰 Here’s the contract reality: 👇

Out here looking like a Carmel Dads retreat.
Colts are warming up for their walk-through here on the outskirts of London at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club. Team took off last night & landed around 9 a.m. As has been tradition with Steichen, Colts will just under-go a walk-through to safe-guard against injury.

My kids have known what this means for years. It’s one of the things we constantly talk about with them.
Nobody knows what it means, but it's provocative

Bo Nix has this really weird thing where he looks like the absolute worst QB ever, and then you say, “This guy’s the worst,” and he immediately turns into Joe Montana. Then you say, “Oh shit, this guy’s kinda good,” and he immediately turns into the worst QB ever again.

Brohm when it comes to being accountable to his team’s being disciplined.
Brohm on why his teams consistently have had letdowns in the games after winning big matchups: "It's consistent because every team is good that we play in our conference, and everywhere I've been before, every team that we've gone against the next week is good, and that's that's college football."

The Lord may not have giveth but he def tooketh today.
You lost this game because the replay officials gave you the Western Michigan game, even though you should have lost. Karma!

I’m gonna start telling my boss that I’m listed as probable to show up every workday. He’ll just get daily emails. “Employee #1 (giveadamn) - probable”
#Fever star Caitlin Clark (back) is probable to play tomorrow against the #Aces. This is the 36th time this year she’s been listed as probable due to her back. Fellow star Aliyah Boston (right lower leg) is questionable.

Want to be clear there isn't a better head coach for @LouisvilleFB other than Brohm.. hell even I wasn't his biggest fan before he was hired but the overall winning percentage is legit. It just sucks that he can't get over that good to great football team hump ...
