PC hardware, Linux gaming, homelab & things I probably didn’t need to build.
I test things until they break and occasionally learn something. Rare car post.
Need to get a remote job I can do just by prompting Claude or Codex by the time WoW Forever launches, get that add on that lets you communicate with the agents inside the game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on PC: We've identified an issue related to NVIDIA Hairworks that may significantly affect performance. We recommend disabling that setting until this is addressed in a patch.
RE: The WoW Forever class survey:
Would generally rather have more class sub variants due to talents/gear selection then new classes. Back in Wrath, you could actually DK tank in Blood spec (frost was the “official” tank spec, Cata changed this) with the right gear.
It would be more in the spirit of horizontal progression to make it so that a “necromancer” is an existing class with a spec/gear combo that accomplishes that fantasy more. May not be enough variation in class design if “necromancer” is different class altogether.
Think I’ve settled on Human Paladin in WoW Forever.
I’ve had the Night Elf experience a lot, Auberdine and Ashenvale will always be spectacular familiars for me, time to start something a new. If I decide to play Retail, we get the NE Paladins there now too.
Speaking of Older Expansions
Legion having you get a newer epicer ultimate weapon is REALLY funny when Death Knights (technically any melee class but REALLY Death Knights) usually inherently has the Shadowmourne as The Rival to Frostmourne
The World of Warcraft: Forever beta is already struggling to handle the number of players trying to get in.
Blizzard says the response has been “insane,” with so many players hitting the beta that some services are being overwhelmed.
Senior producer Tom Ellis joked that the situation was “a bit excessive for a beta” while the team works on scaling things up.
The Warcraft team says it is increasing server capacity and expects everyone to get in soon.
Holy Andrew Yang says OpenAI and Anthropic now need synthetic internets because AI agents have contaminated the real one.
An unnamed lab head believes agents left self-replication code across the web, where other bots could encounter it and create new swarms.
Yang: “And so now the major firms have polluted the internet.”
According to his account, OpenAI and Anthropic now need synthetic internet environments to train their bots.
This would be the real reason why they need a slow-down. If that's true, we are in for a wild ride.
Hello @dhh , in the spirit of fixing everything and ushering in the year of the Linux Desktop, if you could crack major anti cheat working on Linux, that would probably move the needle more than a lot of other things with Linux adoption.
