Promotional slide for 'When Monsters Speak, A Susan Stryker Reader' edited by McKenzie Wark. The left side features a photo of Susan Stryker, a prominent figure in transgender studies, casually reclining on a couch, looking contemplative. The right side shows a younger Stryker standing confidently with sunglasses, a leather jacket with 'Rage and Defiance' patches, against a chain-link fence. Overlaying the images are the bold title texts 'WHEN MONSTERS SPEAK' and 'SUSAN STRYKER READER' in white and yellow. Excerpts from McKenzie Wark's introduction discuss the concept of transgender time and Stryker's influential work, including 'Transgender History' and co-founding 'TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly'. The Duke University Press logo is at the bottom left, symbolizing the academic endorsement of the work.

We are working on a remembrance, but we cannot overstate the influence of #FredricJameson on Duke University Press. We have made his articles in our journals freely available through October 31. "Postmodernism" is our all-time bestselling book. ow.ly/kGvQ50TtqGz

My admired colleague Fred Jameson died today. An irreparable loss not just for us at Duke, but to the intellectual world. An incomparable critic and theorist is gone. I owe him more than I can say. He hired me years ago. His work has inspired so much of mine.
