It is time to voice your opinion on HALVING the pool saturation, and INCREASING the effect of pledge.
Looking at some recent data:
Raising k to 1000 would mean 209 pools, representing 12.5b ada total (or 60% of total active stake), become over-saturated.
At least 89 of those are "private" and can seemingly re-arrange assets trivially to a second pool. Thus, at most 123 pools are 'actually' affected and if none of them would act, they would lose 27% of staking rewards for their delegators on average.
This creates a game theoretical inefficiency where those that stake with a "good" pool, are rewarded more, theoretically driving a strong (~30% incentive) to migrate to an unsaturated pool.
