Recent $ROL conference is pretty interesting not only for Rollins but also for $GOOG Seems like a good chunk of marketing dollars are going to be redirected from traditional search towards LLM optimization over time Maybe Adobe $ADBE acquisition of Semrush is clearer now

The story of Hermes' "lost" shares is pretty fascinating 5-6% of the outstanding equity has "vanished" and the story even involves a suicide $HERM.NE $LVMH.NE

What $CSU.TO and its universe does seems “simple” enough but you can’t find anything similar when looking at 99.9% of serial acquirers so there must be something tough about replicating the model

Published a new article on Hermes where I go over.. 1) The recent drawdown and the reasons 2) The implications of FX on both the financials and the multiple 3) Why the historical EBIT multiple might not be the best proxy for the future Hope you enjoy it (free to read)

Earnings calls should be 5 minutes of prepared remarks at most and 55 minutes of Q&A We know how to read slides and a PDF thanks!

Just a thought but what if Amazon launches an agent that can look outside the Amazon marketplace and starts to roll out “Buy With Prime” seriously? You’d get organic traffic from prime members and the Amazon experience (Obv impossible to know how everything will evolve) $AMZN

IGV up 5% YTD and has recovered a good chunk of the AI-driven drawdown while Topicus $TOI.NE remains at the drawdown lows Something feels off

Think a lot of people are underestimating Amazon’s role in all of this. Of course it’s still very early in agentic search, but there’s much more to Amazon’s value prop than low prices and a lot of it can only be achieved with its ecommerce infrastructure $AMZN

Tiendas 3B $TBBB continues breaking ATHs Massive and underpenetrated market for the Mexican hard discounter
How does a retailer grow same-store sales 20% while its entire industry shrinks? $TBBB just did it in Q2. Despite the significant store runway, more than half of its 39% total growth came from stores it already owns. It’s a phenomenal business, I broke the Q2 report in the usual place!

Maybe wrong here and we don't have data, but seems like a good chunk of Amazon's marketplace ads happen post-purchase intent/search, so not really extremely exposed to discoverability Also, why wouldn't a personal agent be bad for Meta's ad business in the future? (assuming agents get "commoditized"). Seems like there is more discoverability exposure in Meta ads that could be substituted by agentic search Just thinking out loud here $META $AMZN
I understand the first line of thinking that $AMZN doesn't like $META's Muse to shop around, and people starting to use AI agents as the entry point for commerce, but this is the future. I don't believe $AMZN has a chance of having its own world-dominant personal AI assistant that people would fully transition to. Best case is $AMZN has an endpoint or their own agent that Muse and other personal agents talk to, and not crawl on their websites. $AMZN's e-commerce business will still do well in the agentic era (but they have to lean into the agentic era, not go away), but their ad business (the part of it that is related to discovery on their website) will probably be worth a lot less as agents take over.

This is absolutely hilarious but it’s also the reality of most businesses. Unless you are an extremely recurring business you can: 1) Avoid guidance entirely 2) Sandbag to beat 3) Lose investor confidence by missing Few fall in the first category so #2 and #3 most prevalent
A rather unusual moment during the break at $NVO’s Capital Markets Day. Novo apparently forgot to turn off the microphones during the livestream, even though management clearly seemed to think they were speaking privately. One particularly notable comment everyone watching could hear: “We are going through a period right now where it is almost impossible to provide guidance.” I can’t say with certainty who said it. 🤡
