President Trump’s post is a masterclass in political gaslighting masquerading as geopolitical strategy.
Russia invaded Ukraine, yet Trump blames Zelenskyy for prolonging the war. Sanctions against the aggressor suddenly become an obstacle to peace. Unsubstantiated claims of “great progress,” vague hostage negotiations, and insults toward critics substitute for demonstrable diplomatic achievements.
Trump downplays Russia’s strategic relationship with Iran, scapegoats Ukrainian strikes for global diesel prices while overlooking major Middle Eastern supply disruptions, and portrays Russian fuel exports as an act of generosity rather than commerce.
Trump conflates Western assistance to Ukraine with money personally given to Zelenskyy, disregards his documented ceasefire proposals, presents an imaginary “better deal” from two years ago as historical fact, and absurdly claims Ukraine has lost its seas. Even Ukraine’s devastating human losses become ammunition against its president rather than an indictment of Russian aggression.
Most revealingly, Trump condemns Zelenskyy repeatedly without mentioning Vladimir Putin even once.
This is not sophisticated diplomacy. It is a breathtaking exercise in blame reversal, selective omission, manufactured narratives, and strategic misdirection.
Frankly, President Trump’s entire post is an insult to the intelligence of the American people. 🇺🇸
