And nearly two decades ago, Manjari sang the same song 'Manguyile' with the Maestro himself. 🎶❤️

Today’s #DailyDoseOfRajaSong 🎶
“சம்திங் சம்திங்” - அஞ்சலி ❤️
Here’s a peppy, high-energy track to kick-start your morning. Sung by a lively chorus featuring Ilaiyaraaja’s own children and family members, this song was way ahead of its time. That killer interlude and those infectious dance moves by the kids are pure magic. Proof that Maestro’s beats are timeless and immortal. What a vibe! 🎶🔥
And those witty lyrics by Vaali.😁 Dedicated to all the hard-working husbands out there! 😬🙌

Today’s #DailyDoseOfRajaSong 🎶
“விழியில் விழுந்து” - அலைகள் ஓய்வதில்லை ❤️
Starting with minimal orchestration, the track begins with Maestro's raw opening lines that transition effortlessly into Sasirekha's soft vocals. Also backed by Vairamuthu's poetic imagery, this track brilliantly shifts through phases, from longing to playful excitement to separation (especially the way this line "இரவும் பகலும் உரசிக் கொள்ளும்..." shifts across each phase 👌✨)
Aadhavan mimics how Bharathiraja must have explained this situation to the Maestro.😀👌
One and only Maestro! 🛐🙏

Everyone’s rightly raving about Moorthy, but equal credit to Suraj for elevating that chess sequence. His Malayalam-flavoured Tamil delivery makes Moorthy’s over-the-top confidence even funnier. 😂👏

Also when Rajini says he’s not in the mood to beat another henchman, the way Murthy seriously responds:
“seri, naan oru pathu rod vaangi anganga vachiduren.. unakku eppolaam mood varudho, appolaam eduthu adi.” 🤣🔥
Murthy was an absolute riot before he realised who Rajini really was! Wish we’d got more of that madness. 😂🔥

One of the often less referenced scenes or dialogues from Jailer 2 has to be when Rajini offers juice to Moorthy's guests and Moorthy says, 'Edhuthukonga, just 40 rs than.' 😭

Deva’s songs were such a huge part of our childhood, often without us even realising it was Deva behind them. ❤️
Back then, we just enjoyed the songs, watched our favourite heroes and celebrated the music. It was only as we grew older that we started noticing the people behind those songs. By then, many of us had moved on to the next generation of music directors.
It’s good that Black Sheep organised a grand tribute concert for Deva in Chennai, celebrating his music and contribution to Tamil cinema. That concert helped bring him back into the limelight and paved the way for his worldwide concert journey, keeping him busy entertaining fans over the last few years.
Attended his Sydney concert last year, and it was such a lively, wonderful experience! ❤️🎶
Thank you for all those childhood memories Deva sir. 🙏
