The inauguration of the training exercise for Third-Batch SONGHAI Agripreneurs.
Yesterday, I inaugurated the training exercise for the third batch of 361 young agripreneurs under our Agripreneurship Training Programme at the Training Centre in Dutsin-Ma.
I also used the opportunity to assess the ongoing activities at the centre and engage with the trainees to understand their needs and the areas where government can provide additional support.
We are not training young people simply to become job seekers. We are equipping them with practical skills, knowledge and the entrepreneurial mindset to build sustainable businesses, become employers of labour and contribute to the development of their communities.
To further strengthen the programme, I have directed that the 2027 budget should make provision for the upgrading of the Agripreneurship Training Centre and the expansion of its capacity.
We will also increase enrolment from one trainee per ward to three trainees per ward. With 361 wards across Katsina State, this will enable us to train more than 1,000 young people under the programme.
To our trainees, I urge you to take this opportunity seriously. Be diligent, courageous and committed to learning. When you return to your respective wards, I expect you to put your knowledge into practice, share your skills with others and create opportunities for more young people.
The government will continue to provide the necessary support, but your determination, discipline and willingness to work hard will ultimately determine how far you go.
This is what our Building Your Future Agenda is about, creating opportunities, developing skills and empowering our young people to become productive contributors to the economic future of Katsina State.
I wish the third batch of our agripreneurs a successful training exercise and look forward to seeing the businesses, jobs and opportunities they will create across our 361 wards.
