I actually find PS1-2 era EVAs, despite occasionally getting total disasters, to be way better on average than they are now.
Dragon Quest VIII has a seriously good English dub, but when I went to playing XI recently, hearing a couple lines was enough to immediately switch to JP
MGS1's dub is really incredible when you think about it. This was a PS1 game still in the era where people didn't take games seriously as an artform leading to laughably bad vocal performances, so hearing something like this is mind blowing

Convincing people entirely unfamiliar to play the Sly Trilogy is hard, because the artstyle can easily lead them to think very wrong things
But it's a job that must be done because the series is so peak
