if you're going to try and introduce other squads and want us to care about them: put their names above em.

Gears of War E-Day genuinely annoyed me like half a dozen times in the first hour.
I can't stress enough how much something like this TAKES ME OUT of a games campaign.
if the writing/storytelling doesn't care about whats going on then legit why should the players?

Having 4 soldiers "clear a room" and not check behind a table in the corner and letting the person they're supposed to protect go in and get blown up for some cheap cartoonish shock value was gross.
so many things just don't work/make sense.

Like another thing with gears of war E day for me personally is the lack of "forks in the road" or choosing between 2 paths
it added some replay value and like we had a choice in what was happening
game has a perfect moment for it at the start and just doesn't do it
why not?

I can't believe how bad this game feels to play through.
the cutscenes just don't make sense/feel cartoonish/disconnected
The games worst offense is how often it takes you out of the world/story for a bunch of different reasons
so i tried to give gears of war e day another chance after refunding it on steam for performance issues and yeah this game just stinks narratively.
why aren't we worried about this potential new sighting of locusts? why are we letting a civilian into an uncleared room.

it was a pleasant and funny surprise to see it was a lot easier to catch back up to where my save was on steam by: just skipping the entire starting sequence when i was doing my gamepass playthrough
