Well, for all my voters struggling to decide who to vote for as LA Mayor, Karen Basura just made the choice really easy. 3 months later, she's still campaigning against me, instead of her incompetent DSA opponent. Imagine how dumb you have to be to trash me and alienate 30% of the actual voters in your city, when you're already down in the polls. When I met with the President, he had remarked about Karen: "she's nice and everything...she's just really dumb. Just a very slow person. Not a whole lot going on upstairs". Turns out, he was 100% right. I often refer to this election as the Dumb and Dumber election...well, now we know who is the Dumber. This incompetent communist burned down my town, she's wrecked the city, homelessness is getting worse...she must be fired. Vote out Karen Bass. Fuck whatever Caruso says...he only cares about getting his little sidewalk permits rubber-stamped. He's not relevant. Bass must go. @mikehtrujillo you should've spent more time coaching Karen instead of wasting your time lecturing me. She's legitimately a fucking moron.

People keep asking me to push for one Mayoral candidate or the other. Trying to decide the best move. Guys...it's over. LA had its chance for a candidate of change back in June, and instead...they voted for continued destruction. Both candidates will make LA worse. I feel like Hank in that late episode of Breaking Bad...he's already shot to hell, Walt is desperately bargaining with the Nazis to spare his life in exchange for all the money he has. He begs Hank to tell them to take the deal. Hank just looks at him and says "you're the smartest guy I ever met. And you're too stupid to see...he made up his mind 10 minutes ago." I hate to break it to you, but the fate of LA is already baked into the cake 3 months ago. There's no more wheeling and dealing, no clever ballot trick, no October surprise that's gonna get you out of it. Your chance was in June, and a lot of you just stayed home. Or voted for Alan Miller. I told you to get ten of your friends to vote, and you didn't do it. Elections have consequences, so I hope you all now appreciate that, and operate with a greater sense of urgency with these things. Vote for governor, you still have a shot. Vote for voter ID. Vote down all the new taxes. But for Mayor, it's too late.

Why aren’t Angelenos more pissed off? During the city’s last mayoral election, there was a heated debate about what Los Angeles should be. Now, @AustynJeffs says, nobody seems to care.

This is also ridiculous. Raman has been on the LA City Council for many years in a town where the City Council has more power than the Mayor. The city is “really struggling” due to this city council’s guidance.

The reason is a paranoid commitment to a elect-Democrats-down-the-line voting record purity. I know people now who complain about current CA leadership, while acknowledging they themselves voted for them, and would again because there is a (D) next to their name. If you have a bunch of politicians, of whatever party, who know they don’t have to maintain the city and yet you’ll still vote for them, then you have a bunch of politicians who will siphon off all that tax money meant for city maintenance to enrich themselves and their friends. And those terrified of an “impure voting record” will elect them once again. And PS, this upcoming LA Mayoral election isn’t an election. We all saw the vote manipulation during the primary where Nithya Raman was “placed” in the race with Karen Bass, so we’d have no choice but to elect one or the other person ironically responsible for the current poor state of LA.
