If people are peacefully handing out election leaflets, argue against them. Challenge the policies. Hand out your own leaflets. But trying to shout people down or prevent political campaigning doesn't strengthen democracy — it avoids the argument. You don't get to spend your time researching people you politically oppose, campaign against them through an activist organisation, and then expect nobody to question where the researcher ends and the activist begins.
