They start with understanding the basics, practising consistently, and making smarter decisions over time. The lesson on emergency funds really stood out to me. It reminded me that an emergency fund isn’t about saving randomly — it’s about creating a safety net around the things I genuinely need. For example, if my essential expenses were $1,500 a month and I wanted six months covered, my target would be $9,000. I also learned that building even a small starter fund while paying off debt can make a difference. Life doesn’t always wait until the debt is gone before something unexpected happens. And for freelancers or anyone with inconsistent income, having a larger cushion can provide even more breathing room. My biggest takeaway: Financial growth is less about trying to get everything right at once and more about building habits that become automatic. Learn. Practise. IS CRYPTOCURRENCY REALLY DECENTRALIZED? Cryptocurrency was built around a powerful idea: reducing dependence on central authorities and giving individuals greater control over their assets. And in one important sense, that control is real. With self-custody, your private keys give you the ability to authorize transactions without handing custody of your assets to an exchange or financial institution. But ownership is only one layer of decentralization. A deeper question begins when we look beneath the asset itself. Who runs the nodes? Who validates transactions? Who maintains the software? Who provides the infrastructure users rely on? Who participates in consensus? And how distributed are these responsibilities in practice? You can control your private keys while still depending on systems, infrastructure and participants you don't personally control. That doesn't necessarily make cryptocurrency centralized. It simply means decentralization isn't one single property. It exists across different layers: OWNERSHIP. VALIDATION. CONSENSUS. SOFTWARE. INFRASTRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE. And those layers don't always have the same distribution of control. So perhaps the more useful question isn't simply: “Is cryptocurrency decentralized?” It's: “At which layer is it decentralized, where do we still depend on someone else? And can it be overhauled?” Because true understanding of decentralization requires looking beyond who owns the asset to who sustains the system that makes ownership possible. The question isn't whether decentralization exists. It's understanding where it actually exists.
