I’ve been less critical of others when it comes to compromises in Kingston’s cycle network, but this is unforgivably bad. Completely unacceptable design.

This brand new protected bike lane is actually free car parking for 94% of the day, every day. 🤦‍♂️

So I raised this with @RBKingston on behalf of @KingstonCycling at a public council meeting last Thursday. And as if by magic, by Saturday the sign had been replaced, with significantly different rules! Great work by the KCC team to get our objections heard so quickly. But...

... it's still completely a completely terrible situation. The cycle lane will be blocked all weekend, and overnight, and the remaining pavement is dangerously narrow between the parking bays and adjacent walls. So we'll continue to object, and this certainly isn't resolved yet.
