This was the Patriots' night.
With the conference lead on the line, Apex Friendship dashed past Jordan 32-20, and its top players let their stats speak for themselves.
Running back Michael Mallard's 302 yards rushing on 34 carries and two touchdowns made him the obvious choice for offensive player of the game.
Linebacker Tyler Goebbel's 21 tackles made him the easy selection for the Vector Security Defensive Player of the Game.

Breaking: Tonight's Millbrook-Rolesville football overtime ending has been postponed to a later date.
When asked for the exact cause of the postponement, Millbrook High School Principal Monica Sawyer offered no comment. Similarly, Rolesville head coach Kevin Reddick said he was told not to speak to media about the matter.
The decision was an atypical call to end an atypical evening. Around approximately 9:20 p.m. with just over eight minutes to play in the game, play was halted and all spectators and fans were asked to exit the stadium.

The situation around tonights Rolesville at Millbrook football game was bizarre.
Capacity crowd.
Crowd riot?
Stadium emptied.
They play for an hour.
End regulation tied.
Then suspend the game and no overtime is played.
Brutal look for the City of Raleigh and WCPS.

A conference championship could be on the line in this week's Alpaca Game of the Week.
Jordan is on the road at Apex Friendship for a big one in the Quad City Seven 8A Conference. Last year, this game decided the conference championship. Jordan beat Apex Friendship 28-7 and finished the conference slate unblemished. It was the Patriots' only conference loss in 2025.
