🌍 Many countries around the world face similar policy challenges—but it's hard to find time, and the right channels, to connect and learn from each other. Our regional offices help bridge the gap. Last year, @JPAL_MENA and @JPAL_SEA partnered to bring Egyptian policymakers to Indonesia to share knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned, supported by @isdb_group @CommunityJameel. 🎥 Hear directly from the participants on their key takeaways: bit.ly/3Jy6w0I

🌍 On this #InternationalDayOfCare, we’re highlighting evidence from a J-PAL Policy Insight that shows childcare can be beneficial for women’s economic empowerment: ✨ In 5 of 9 studies, access to childcare increased women’s employment by 5–47% ✨ Childcare helped women be more productive and shift into better jobs. ✨ Where employment effects were limited, barriers like fewer job opportunities and low trust in available care stood in the way. ✨ Other members of the family benefitted too—some fathers, siblings, and grandparents saw higher employment and earnings. 💡 More research is needed to answer open questions related to care for older adults and people with disabilities, and policies to support care workers. 🔎 Read the Insight: bit.ly/4hEcSbK
