David Blough has established a real commitment to the run game that Washington's offense hasn't had for many years. It's not too effective right now but that will come. Commanders 4th in the NFL in rush attempts, allows real opportunity for complimentary football.

Do you even cover this team? Were the Commanders not one of the top rushing teams the last 2 years?

you can look at the numbers all day but trust your eyes watching the game. those rush numbers were driven by QB runs

The fake hand off was just brilliant! He set that up all game. Just pure genius.

Running back is not the problem our guards were getting blown off the ball

The crazy thing is Greg Olsen kept saying, “why does Washington keep running the ball, they’re only getting 2 yards per. “ To setup those big throws to Terry & those 2 late 3rd down runs. Couldn’t believe a former offensive pro would say that on a telecast.

Credit pie to #63 at center, was he even with team last week? And whole OL who pulled together and made it work.

Yea but cant keep running into brick walls when its obvious it doesnt work. Ekeler will finally hopefully give him a screen game.

The commitment to the middle run to setup the 2 game winning runs on the last drive were excellent. Even Olsen in the Fox booth called them "wasted downs". Well they weren't, they chewed timeouts, clock, and setup the outside when you really needed them.

And in all fairness Bill did have a home run TD, pre-snap penalty had nothing to do with the play. Ekeler coming back is going to be electric

I seem to be alone on this but I think it's crazy to run so much on first down (2.6 yards per carry) rather than pass (5.9 yards per pass attempt). Without the 3 turnovers Seattle would have won easily. Seattle passed more often and more effectively.

Great for balance. But, they need a running back! Bill, 1.9 yards per carry, not getting it done. White is a good role back. They need a horse that can carry 20-25 times with a good average yards per carry. Hopefully, Ekeler will help, but not a long term answer.

WTF…Scott Turner ran up the middle on first down virtually non stop.

If they knew commitment to the run was going to be a priority I wish they would’ve taken a bigger swing at finding a better back in FA

More outside runs would help, was nowhere to run on a lot of Bill’s carries

Scott Turner ran way too much as well not many yrs ago. It'd be nice if we had an OC that can join the modern NFL.

The OL staying healthy/getting reps together will help the run game as they adjust to the new scheme.

People should look at Bears first 3 games last year to get a little hope. Line and scheme takes cohesion.

@JPFinlayNBCS why are all the runs on first down up the middle with RB’s not built for that?

Next time, quit running into the Murphy / Williams brick wall. Toss, sweep, outside zone, stretch. Bad scheme

It will come? Gruden used to slam it up the middle every first down. Not sure it’s just gonna come.

I hope we commit to developing a run game. This is encouraging. As much as JD looks great carrying the rock, that opens the door to injury.

Stop it JP… He runs the ball on every first down for one yard even Greg Olson said these are wasted downs

Bingo. Just need to average more yards per carry obviously. Can’t put it all on QB’s to throw dimes on 3rd and 8 every time.

I'm a pretty objective guy but yesterdays announcers criticized and dismissed the viability of the Commanders throughout the whole game. Very annoying.

The dedication to it is effective. It influences the defense. It’s not fruitful but it’s effective
