Walnut and Cherry are so nice to work with but I really dig stuff like purple heart, padauk, etc. Something about the heft and natural vibrance of them.

We did a custom build once for a lady that had some Purple Heart wood from a missions trip she went on. That stuff is hard but beautiful!
