It was a privilege to welcome President Sadyr Zhaparov of the Kyrgyz Republic to Utah. Utah and Kyrgyzstan are separated by thousands of miles, but we share much in common: strong communities, remarkable mountain landscapes and a desire to create lasting opportunity for the next generation. Utah has shown what is possible when we pair those strengths with innovation, responsible growth and a commitment to the future. I appreciated the opportunity to exchange ideas with President Zhaparov, share some of Utah’s experiences and learn more about his vision for the Kyrgyz Republic. Visits like this strengthen relationships, open new opportunities and remind us how much we can learn from one another. I’m grateful President @sadyrzhaparovkg chose to spend time in Utah and look forward to building on the relationships formed during his visit.

Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, we remember nearly 3,000 lives lost. We honor the first responders and all those who ran toward danger, putting others before themselves. In one of our nation’s darkest moments, their courage revealed the strength and resolve of the American people. We also remember the America that emerged in the days that followed. Neighbors helped neighbors. People from every background came together with a renewed appreciation for the freedoms we share. That spirit of courage, service and unity is worth carrying forward. America is strongest when we stand together, serve one another and never take our freedom for granted. May we never forget.

I will never forget September 11, 2001. But I also will never forget the America we saw in the days that followed. We saw courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy. We saw first responders and everyday Americans put others’ lives before their own. We saw neighbors helping neighbors and a nation come together with a renewed appreciation for our country and the freedoms we share. Twenty-five years later, I hope we carry that spirit forward. America is strongest when we stand together, serve one another and never take our freedom for granted. May God bless the families of those we lost, those who answered the call to serve and the United States of America.

One year ago, Charlie Kirk was killed while doing what he believed in, engaging others in conversation and the exchange of ideas.   Today, we remember Charlie, his family and all those impacted by the events of that day.   Political differences should never lead to political violence. Charlie believed in the importance of free speech and respectfully engaging with people who saw the world differently. That commitment remains just as important today. The freedoms we cherish depend on our willingness to defend the right of others to speak, debate and disagree peacefully.   There will always be issues that divide us, but disagreement should never make us enemies. We can honor Charlie’s memory by choosing dialogue over division, treating one another with respect and protecting the freedoms that allow every American to have a voice.

Labor Day is a reminder that Utah’s success is built by people who show up, work hard and create opportunities for the next generation. I’m grateful for the men and women across our state who build our communities, support their families and help create an even stronger future for Utah.

I’m saddened by the passing of Colin Hilton, a champion of Utah’s Olympic and Paralympic legacy. For more than two decades, Colin dedicated himself to building on the legacy of the 2002 Winter Games and ensuring that its venues and opportunities continued to serve athletes and communities across Utah. Colin understood that the Olympic legacy is about inspiring future generations, supporting athletes and strengthening our communities. His leadership helped make that vision a reality. Colin leaves behind an incredible legacy of service. My thoughts are with his family, friends and the entire Olympic community. He will be missed.

I’ve been asked a lot of questions about the letters I sent to Gabi Finlayson at Elevate Strategies, Uriah Kennedy and Ingrid Bettridge with the God and Country Podcast and Tina Cannon. For months, false statements have been repeatedly spread about me despite the facts and the public record, showing a reckless disregard for the truth with the intent of damaging my reputation and causing tremendous harm to my family. I watched the community I love lose everything, an inch at a time, to a cultural enemy welcomed inside the gate. I will not stand by and watch that happen to the state my grandchildren will inherit.

There are certain moments when you can see the future beginning to take shape such as when Utah's railroads connected the American West. Today's investments in advanced energy have the potential to be just as transformational. Reliable energy is the foundation of a strong economy and a secure nation. Every business that opens its doors, every hospital that cares for patients and every family that flips on a light switch depends on affordable, dependable power. As Utah continues to grow, so does our responsibility to ensure we have the energy infrastructure to support the next generation of homes, businesses and innovation. I'm proud that Utah has been selected as one of just five states to explore the opportunity to host a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus. This milestone reflects confidence in Utah's workforce, our business climate and our long-term approach to energy policy. By bringing key stages of the nuclear fuel cycle together in one location, the campus would strengthen domestic supply chains, create thousands of high-paying jobs and further establish Utah as a national leader in advanced energy. I appreciate @SecretaryWright's partnership as we continue through this process. If selected, this would be a generational investment in Utah's economy, America's energy security and the opportunities we leave for future generations.

I joined Utah’s federal delegation, state leaders and local officials in Beaver to meet with residents, hear their concerns and see firsthand the impact of the recent wildfires and flooding yesterday. I was also grateful for the opportunity to attend the Pioneer Day parade and spend time with this remarkable community. Even in the midst of difficult circumstances, Beaver’s compassion, determination and strong sense of community were on full display. My prayers are with every family grieving the loss of a loved one, those who have been displaced and everyone whose homes, businesses, and property have been damaged. The response from Utahns has shown the very best of our state, neighbors helping neighbors, communities coming together to work side by side to support recovery. We will continue working with local, state and federal partners to help these communities rebuild and move forward.

Utah’s story began with faith, sacrifice and determination that continue to shape who we are today. As we celebrate Pioneer Day, may we honor that legacy by building something for the next generation that’s worthy of those who came before us. Happy Pioneer Day.

We mourn the loss of Lt. Tyler Feehan, who served our nation with courage. Our hearts are with his family, his fellow soldiers, and the Southern Utah University community during this difficult time. May we honor his memory by never forgetting his sacrifice. 🇺🇸

I recently visited Kaddas Enterprises and saw firsthand how Utah manufacturers are helping strengthen our state's critical infrastructure while supporting wildlife conservation. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, wildlife is responsible for approximately 20% of power outages nationwide. Kaddas Enterprises is helping meet that challenge by manufacturing innovative products that strengthen grid reliability, protect critical electrical infrastructure, reduce wildfire risk and conserve wildlife. It is encouraging to see a Utah company creating innovative products that are manufactured here at home and shipped to customers across the country and around the world. That kind of innovation strengthens our economy, creates good jobs and helps solve real-world challenges while making our communities safer and more resilient. This is what Utah does best. We bring together innovation, manufacturing and practical problem-solving to strengthen our economy, support responsible stewardship and build a stronger future for our state.

We don’t have to choose between protecting our heritage and supporting our communities. These changes give land managers greater flexibility to reduce wildfire risk and combat invasive species. By focusing protections where they matter most, we can preserve these cultural and natural treasures while honoring the traditions and livelihoods that have long been part of this region.

Once again, Utah has shown the nation what makes our state so exceptional. Congratulations to everyone who helped Utah earn the Best in Show State Pavilion award at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Your efforts showcased the people, innovation, values and strong communities that make Utah such a remarkable place. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

For 250 years, the United States has stood as the world's greatest example of freedom. Our nation was founded on the enduring belief that our rights come from God, that liberty is worth defending and that free people can accomplish extraordinary things. As we commemorate America250, may we all remember the patriots who secured our independence, the servicemen and women who defend our freedoms and all those whose sacrifice has allowed our nation to endure and prosper. Here in Utah, we proudly carry that legacy forward. Our state's success reflects the enduring principles that have made America exceptional for two and a half centuries. Ten years ago, Stadler chose Utah as its North American home. That decision wasn't just about building trains, it was about investing in Utah's people. I was proud to help bring Stadler to our great state, and it's been incredible to see what that partnership has made possible. Today, it has created hundreds of high-quality jobs, strengthened our manufacturing economy and, through its apprenticeship program, opened doors for students to gain hands-on experience and build rewarding careers in advanced manufacturing. I've always believed our greatest strength is our people. When business, education and government work together, we build opportunity and strengthen families and a brighter future for the next generation.
