Your veins are a body fat readout.
Here's what mine are telling you
- Veins sit just under the skin. The less fat covering them, the more they show
- Most men start seeing arm veins around 10–12% body fat
- Lower ab veins usually need single digits
- During curls, blood rushes into the working muscle, it swells and pushes the veins closer to the surface
- Training releases nitric oxide, which widens your blood vessels
- Heat, carbs and good hydration all make vascularity more visible
- Genetics matter. Some people are vascular at 15%, others barely show at 9%
- Thinner skin = more visible veins
What it doesn't mean:
- You're automatically healthier
- You need to dehydrate or starve yourself to chase it
Veins are a side effect of being lean. Not the goal.
Get lean. Train hard. The veins show up on their own.
What body fat did yours start showing at?
