Want to get this out there before the inevitable #Titans signing of Wandale and being lose their mind about the $ amount.
The $ amount is NOT how you grade a deal - the salary cap has gone up nearly 70% since 2022. You should be looking at the % of the Titan’s overall salary cap that they give up.
Looking at recent high-end WR2s deals based on how much of the salary cap they signed for at the time of their deal:
Waddle - 11%
Higgins - 10.3%
Pickens - TAGGED 9.1% (This will be around 10% when he signs long term)
Devonta Smith - 9.8%
Christian Kirk (JAX deal) - 8.6%
#Titans should be looking to give Wandale anywhere between 9-9.5%.
Anything less is a great deal. Anything more is an overpay. Simple as that.
ESPN sources: Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach. Saleh spent Monday in Tennessee with the Titans, and the two sides impressed each other enough to move forward together.
Best OL performance of the year.
Best Ridley performance of the year.
Not a coincidence. Ward can be the guy when his guys do what they need to do. LFG. #TitanUp
