Fake news. I was 2nd in the MPs’ queue from 7.30am this morning (behind Des Swayne) for a prayer card to reserve a seat and there was no sign of Farage then. I didn’t see him come to prayers at 11.30am to come and claim a seat then either. You snooze, you lose.
Nigel Farage was unable to attend the Budget in the Commons because his seat reservation was removed, The Telegraph understands. The Reform UK leader’s prayer card — a green slip of paper that backbench MPs put on a spot on the green benches to reserve their seat — was moved after it was placed this morning. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/business/202…
Community note
Farage's prayer card lacked a valid date stamp and was removed per House of Commons protocol. MPs confirm seats were available unreserved and he did not attend prayers to secure one. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/… x.com/hope_sapphire/

New poll: 76% of Ukrainians living in Ukraine believe that armed resistance to Russian aggression must continue, even if some of them have to spend some time without electricity, running water, or sewage services. Only 15% believe Ukraine should accept all of Russia’s demands to preserve these basic comforts, even if it means losing the war. Since August–September, despite all of Russia’s attacks, public attitudes have remained virtually unchanged. 80% believe Ukraine should continue striking Russia’s oil industry, despite US demands to unilaterally stop doing so and threats to suspend or restrict aid. Only 11% believe Ukraine should refrain from such strikes, even if Russia continues destroying civilian infrastructure. 63% are prepared to endure the war for as long as necessary, while 21% are willing to endure it for up to another six months. These attitudes have also remained virtually unchanged throughout the second half of 2026. 62% trust Zelenskyy as president, while 35% do not. kiis.com.ua/?lang=eng&cat=re…

Waiting for all those self-proclaimed ‘patriots’ to answer this one. If the UK rejoined the EU tomorrow, which Brexit benefit would you miss the most? Come on, there must be something.

- Chechen wars: Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia joined. - War in Ukraine: Sweden and Finland joined. Russia is the best promoter of NATO membership.
The main reason why NATO enlargement happened was because of Russia. The main reason why Ukraine was militarily attacked was the lack of NATO membership. The main reason why Sweden and Finland joined NATO after hundreds of years respectively decades of neutrality was also Russia.

We dont force them. Traders are allowed to display imperial, customers can ask in imperial and in quantities. In the governments consultation in 2023 there was overwhelming opposition to increasing choices in measurement systems.

I think we shouldn’t force market stalls to sell things in grams and ml if they don’t want to. Less red tape. Not a big thing, but a nice little thing to ease annoyance.

450 million currently have the right to settle in Amsterdam. But don’t. The full 69.5 million population of the UK plus the full 5.5 million population of Ireland currently have the right to work and settle in Brighton. But don’t. Reform are being very silly, again.
🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Andy Burnham has admitted he wants open door immigration with the EU. Freedom of movement means 450 million people will be able to move to the UK with no powers to stop them. Why is Burnham so determined to open the floodgates once again?

It is disgraceful that Andy Burnham took an hour out to appear on Gogglebox just to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer. If he's going to do a TV show he should do what I did and pocket £1.5million for eating some kangaroo bollocks.
