Paul says in 1 Corinthians to āRun from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.ā
We can call the Bible outdated, false, or lame all we want, but it is the truth and your heart knows it even if your brain denies it. You canāt lie to yourself. Thereās a reason people get feelings of violation, itās because you were violated. Regardless what our legal system determines, Godās legal system says You were violated, by yourself and others.
Until we can agree that everyone involved here had no respect or love for themselves or others, weāll keep arguing futile points. The truth is they were all out that night to selfishly use someone else to try and satisfy their own desires. Thatās what sexual immorality is. Itās sad man. Satan makes it look freeing and fun, but itās just violation across the board.
Stick to one man and one woman loving each other in the safety and trust of a covenant. And you know what? Thatās when it is satisfying. When marriage is done right, sex is never better. No violation needed. God aint trying to stop the good times from rolling. Heās the one who designed and gave us the amazing gift of sex after all. As the designer, He just knows how best to use it and how dangerous and corrupting it can become when used out of context.
I say we use this tragedy as a lesson to why we ought to listen to Him. I pray all involved find the healing now that can only be found in Jesus. And I pray our society can come back to Godās way of sex and our nation can begin healing as well.
I keep hearing about young women who reinterpret past sexual experiences as nonconsensual. I think theyāre treating the discomfort they feel about the experience as evidence something was done wrong to them.
Something was done wrong to you, by you. That feeling is called regret.
