Lake dusk last night, 45 minutes after sunset. And if you look carefully there is a Blue Heron hunting in the foreground. Athough it looked almost totally dark to my eye, a 30 second exposure brought out all the beautiful detail and color. End of summer is tomorrow at at 8:05 pm.

With a rare three astronomical events happening today, it made sense that there would be a beautiful sunrise too. There was a six-planet alignment before sunrise, next a midday partial solar eclipse, and the peak of the Perseid meteor shower overnight.
