The more I've worked on this project for @crossway, the more I've become convinced that the New Testament use of the Old dismantles the case for slow incremental development and utterly vindicates "early high Christology." Here we have Peter (casually!) replacing YHWH with Christ, in a passage that's not even making a wider point about Christology.

The project in question
Here's a little sneak peak at an upcoming project we are working on for @crossway . We've tried to collect all previously suggested links between OT and NT by collating roughly 30 historic "NT use of OT" sources (e.g., NA28 margins, Carson & Beale, Dittmar, etc.) and are marking each proposed link for lexical and semantic overlap and grading as allusion, quotation, citation, or summation, along with a confidence score. This link was proposed by just one 1855 author (Henry Gough) but will feature in the project. #TheTapestryofScripture

Perhaps I have judged postmillenialism too harshly.
Silicon from sand qualifies. If the people stay quiet, these circuits will still testify. Luke 19:40 holds.

For those interested in the project: Jonathan Gibson and Peter Orr are the senior editors. Each contributing editor is assigned to evaluate and mark up the proposed links within their assigned section of the canon. I'm covering Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, and 2 Peter. We are hoping to have it out by 2029. One exciting aspect is that it will be mirrored OT/NT, so you can open the project to an OT passage and see everywhere it is picked up, interpreted, or alluded to in the NT.

Thrilled to hear that NTS is publishing my article. Hopefully this one will make an impact on the apostasy debates.

My latest contribution. Give it a read if interested!
Did he suffer in the place of sinners to bear the wrath of God for humanity’s sin or did he defeat Satan in an invisible victory over cosmic forces? Christ died in our place to both satisfy the demands of God’s justice and set us free. thegospelcoalition.org/artic…
