Here is some updated information on Kalie McCrystal: The family is asking anyone who contacted or attempted to contact Kalie during the time period of 15:45 CET Tuesday and 9:26 CET Wednesday to come forward even if you did not get a response. Pings and digital artifacts can still be used to help narrow Kalie’s location. For this purpose anyone can reach out to me on X In the comments or DMs or email me at Amelia.boultbee.mla@leg.bc.ca Kalie was out on Tuesday doing a reconnaissance mission on the Lions Ridge, which is essentially the west ridge, and is considered the record for the Italian side. Kalie does not already have a record on that ridge. She was hoping to attempt to beat the standing record which was set by American Karina Andersen this year (who beat another record set earlier in the summer). Kalie did establish a speed record on the matterhorn earlier this summer on the Hornli Ridge, which is the Northeast Ridge and is in Switzerland and the most prestigious ridge. The search has NOT been suspended. Helicopters were temporarily grounded for some nighttime conditions but the search for Kalie remains ongoing. Right now, the Italians are in charge of the efforts. The Lion’s Ridge, which is the route she was taking, is on the Swiss-Italian Border. The South side of the ridge (and south face) is on the Italian Side and the West side of the ridge (and West face) are on the Swiss side of the mountain. The Italians have been granted permission by the Swiss to fly on the west face of the mountain (which is in Switzerland). Please keep praying for Kalie.
