đźš— After residents told us about issues with abandoned cars in Purley, as part of Executive Mayor @JasonForCroydon zero-tolerance approach to antisocial behaviour, we got them removed. Got an issue? Report it via Love Clean Streets. #CleanerCroydon #SaferCroydon

Huge congratulations to everyone at Meridian High School on being shortlisted for Leadership Team of the Year at the National Schools Awards. A brilliant recognition of the dedication of the whole school community and their determination to help every young person fulfil their potential. Another Croydon school making us proud. Very well deserved 👏 yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news…

As Labour Party Conference draws to a close tomorrow, I welcome the Government’s commitment to devolution. The test is whether power and funding reach the councils people rely on every day. Croydon is ready to deliver. My piece for @themjcouk: jasonperry.uk/news/devolutio…

Great to see Croydon profiled in today’s @MetroUK. It captures so much of what we’re proud of: brilliant independent businesses, culture, green spaces and connections across London. Croydon has enormous potential. We’re building on those strengths, bringing investment into our town centre and restoring pride in our borough.

🚗♿ Our crackdown on Blue Badge fraud continued in August: ✅ 11 badges seized ✅ 8 court convictions ✅ 11 cases awaiting trial We have zero-tolerance for this crime. Most of the badges seized were either stolen or fake. #Zero-tolerance #RestoringPride

Great to welcome businesses from across Croydon to our Croydon Means Business breakfast event today. We’re investing £500,000 to support local businesses, including £10,000 capital grants, shopfront improvements, targeted business rates relief and a dedicated business concierge service. It was great to hear directly from our business panel too, including businesses already benefiting from the grants, about their experiences and aspirations for Croydon. Croydon is open for business - and Croydon Means Business.

Croydon Magistrates’ Court has approved three-month closure orders for Porters Newsagents and Attitude London Salon in West Thornton following police action over the handling of stolen goods. The closures follow July raids which saw four arrests and suspected stolen goods, cash, drugs and weapons seized. Police are investigating suspected stolen goods from local shops being sold through the premises for resale. These closures send a strong message and could help reduce shoplifting in the area. Well done to our local police officers who worked tirelessly to secure this action. Tackling shoplifting remains a key focus of our zero-tolerance approach to crime and antisocial behaviour across Croydon.

Croydon’s Green Belt is sacrosanct. I will do all I can to protect it. The Draft London Plan proposes 5,600 homes on greenfield land in Croydon, despite identifying capacity for 15,944 on brownfield sites. We can build the homes we need whilst protecting the places residents value.
Sadiq Khan’s Draft London Plan proposes 5,600 homes on Croydon’s greenfield land. Mayor @JasonForCroydon and Croydon Conservatives will fight to protect our Green Belt. Will @LabourSJ and @NDIronsMP stand with Croydon or with Khan? Watch Cllr @Jeet__Bains explain👇

Local businesses need more support and action on tackling shoplifting in London, that’s why we’re piloting the tagging of prolific offenders as part of our zero tolerance approach in Croydon under @JasonForCroydon
One in five shoplifting offences are in London. In Croydon, Conservative mayor @JasonForCroydon is piloting a scheme to tag prolific shoplifters to stamp it out. But where is Sadiq Khan? He's had ten years. Does any Londoner feel safer now than they did 10 years ago?!

There is no place for tenancy fraud in Croydon. We’re working with the Cabinet Office and Airbnb to identify Council homes being illegally sublet for private profit. If you are abusing the system, you risk losing your home. Council housing must go to residents who genuinely need it. jasonperry.uk/news/mayor-jas…

There is lots happening in our parks and green spaces across Croydon. At Millers Pond in Shirley, it’s great to see work well underway on a new section of path, alongside maintenance works and new benches, made possible through our Pride in Place Impact Fund. At Beulah Hill Pond, concerns were raised earlier this year about the condition of the pond and we promised action. This week, The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) have been hard at work with 11 volunteers clearing around six cubic metres of green waste. And at South Norwood Lakes, we have recently opened a new outdoor gym for residents to enjoy, with more new and improved outdoor gyms and playgrounds to be unveiled across the borough over the coming months. Working with Friends of Groups, local communities and volunteers, we are continuing to invest in our parks and green spaces that make Croydon a place we are proud to call home.
