EAST SHIFT - My confidence is growing that #Isaias will make landfall along the beaches of Alabama & the Florida Panhandle on Friday night. Pensacola is the bullseye, but my gut says a little east of there. This will be the worst hurricane to hit this area since Sally in 2020. Residents in these areas must prepare for 100 MPH winds, storm surge, flooding rain, and tornadoes. Mississippi, you’re not out the woods yet but it’s looking better for you. The UGA/Bama game forecast has IMPROVED quite a bit in the last 24 hours. Isaias is speeding up (and shifting east)- it will likely pass over Tuscaloosa late Saturday morning.
What does that mean? Heavy rain is still likely in the morning, but it won't be a washout during the game. It will be quite breezy - winds 20-35mph - but the strongest wind is also likely before the game starts.
Still looks like a hot mess for tailgating, but I do think they will play the game on Saturday.
