Oh my Goddess, can't remember how long it's been since the last time I dirtied more than two pots when cooking dinner. 😬 But tonight, it's salmon-and-spinach pie for dinner.
Oooh I bet. Have you ever checked out the Octolab YouTube channel? Highly advisable. I love their content and it's all tentacly goodness. I love seeing their personalities at play. youtu.be/KBAClAx9Njc
My beautiful boy had his last walk today. But I am immensely grateful for the time we had together, and for the fact that we could let him go with the smell of the forest still fresh in his nose, and both us of us there with him. He fell asleep with his head in my lap.
15 minutes of green things, birdsong, dog walkers, and book pages. This has become my favourite thing to do before starting my shift and I am totally ready to face a day of patients and needles and all the radiological things. #amreading
My beautiful boys. 😍 I can have all the stress and anxiety and rampaging chaos in my head, and the smell of horse and the sound of their breathing is enough to make all of it settle down.
My gang of crazies. 4 year old photo but I have to treasure snaps like these because getting them all to sit still and focus simultaneously while also being able to fit them into one shot is so, so, SO rare.
Post-graveyard-shift brain is clearly a thing this morning. Changing out of my scrubs and clogs and into my own clothes, and this happened. Inspired much confidence in my ability to drive home safely. (I did make it there)
Finally treated myself to some @mythsterhood merch. A travel mug to keep me caffeinated during hospital shifts, and a new backpack with a better laptop compartment. The mug arrived today! It is soooooo pretty? OMG.
We have arrived safely in 2021. One good thing about all the restrictions on parties and events was a stress free New Year's eve for our gorgeous boys.
Christmas dessert over here was lavender lemon pavlova. Absolutely love how the lemon curd looks like sunlight congealed. What did you guys have for dessert? Let's all live vicariously just a wee bit. #MerryChristmas#dessert#ChristmasDinner
So, about two months ago, we got this thing filled up with water and plants and fishies. For my guy. Not me.
Buuut, yeah. I admit it's mesmerising. And here is a feeding frenzy, including a clear view of some of the baby fishies that popped up about a month ago.
I vacuumed my dog's butt, as I do every day I vacuum. Because he blocks my way and refuses to move until I use the vacuum on him instead of wasting it on the floor.
But today he was having extra fun and I just had to film it. Had to. #dogsoftwitter
When Lucie arrived at our house at age 3, she'd already had a loving home, but with an elderly lady who was unequipped to handle a border collie with a high drive to work. She came a long way, but is now a happy, functional competition dog in agility trials.
Dorothy, the little poodle my sister adopted after her rescue from a puppy mill 7 years ago, died today. She was, to say the least, a very special little pupper who inspired the second short story I ever wrote. jasminearch.com/index.php/20…
One afternoon of rainy day food preps and I'm set for all sorts of deliciousness, like everything bagel seasoning to sprinkle over soft boiled egg. *sigh* I should do this type of stuff more often.
This silly little podcast in which I talk about stuff and in which my pets make cameos, has become the best thing ever in terms of keeping myself on task and accountable. anchor.fm/jasmine-arch/episo…
I have suddenly and unexpectedly become addicted to historical costume videos and sewing. Can't sew worth a damn but it lowers my stress levels so there.

Now, I don't think snootiness can be seen as offensive (all I can do is LMAO when I see words like "elevated language"), but trying to tell me I need therapy and/or a priest???

But I got a rejection letter today that first of all made me laugh hilariously. And then it pissed me off. Big time. Because one thing I DO take issue with is editors who think it's OK to refuse works because of homophobia.

The Mythsterhood of the Travelling Tales is launching its first full episodes in less than two days! OMG. I'm both excited and terrified. The adventure is becoming real, you guys! @mythsterhood#mythology#dragons
