EVERYTHING about the Folic Acid mandate is designed to OBFUSCATE the truth from ordinary people like you & I. This includes the names & phrases being used on ingredient lists on food packaging. PLEASE be careful, good people! The word "FORTIFIED" IS A HUGE red flag. Other words are "enhanced" & I have even seen the chemical names being listed on several items. The chemical names for folic acid are: L-Glutamic Acid & PTEROYLGLUTAMIC Even if the label says: "Folate B9" on an ingredient list.. PUT IT BACK FOLATE B9 should not be on an "ingredient" list because it is a NATURAL Vitamin. NOT an "ingredient" (that is the give-a-way) When I found out about all this around 2 years ago, I was willing to give gov't the benefit of doubt. Industrial mass flour manufacturers had taken so much goodness out of the flour, that they were having to but the "vitamins" BACK into it, artificially... BUT! Considering all the blatant OBFUSCATION & CONFUSION, which appears deliberate, when I ask questions about labelling or WHERE this SFA mandate even came from, who ordered it, who signed it & the funding behind it.. I only have one sad conclusion. THIS is NOT being done for our health. & the more I look, the more sinister it gets.

Finally, it's being widely talked about! Folic acid should be nowhere near staple foods. Arguably it shouldn't even be in supplements. A small proportion of the population might need folate supplements. So: let's find out who those people are, and give them folate supplements, and keep unnecessary and potentially harmful medicines out of everyone's food. There's enough crap in processed food already without adding medicine as well.
