"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:19-20

In life, I struggle, I suffer, I’m tempted, I’m tested, sometimes I feel so weak. But when I am weak, I am strong. Because Christ, He is my hope, He is my strength, He is a firm foundation that never fails. Jesus is worthy of it all. May He be glorified always, not just on the mountain tops, but even in the valleys. “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” Psalms 62:5, 8

Oliver is a good dude. A good Utah fan!
Hot take: let @treysonbourguet be. I think we’re letting our red goggles interpret a message that he didn’t mean. I think it’s totally fine to draw upon the Lord for help after losing in anything in life. I’ve said what I’ve said. Treyson is a good dude

Yes!!

Isn’t the whole point of the Gospel to apply it to ourselves? I do not understand the hate here. The Grace of the Savior is there to help us through WHATEVER we are struggling with, even emotions from a football game.

Yes, Kyle.
The Atonement of Jesus Christ was infinite in its reach, but deeply individual in its purpose. Christ didnt just suffer for the sins and pains of the world. He suffered for my sins, my pains, and my weaknesses. Dont let anyone ever tell you your pain isn’t worthy of the atonement

And anyone good LDS would tell you how extremely messed up it is for you to find any fault whatsoever with this pure intended thought from BYU’s non-LDS backup quarterback. Are we in the twilight zone?! What is happening?!

Normal, every day players and coaches: Glory to God! Love God! He was with us in this football game! Ute fans: Aight. Cool. Scalley: Let me tell you about Jesus Christ... Ute fans: OH MY GOSH! YES! BYU players: Man, this is a dark and hard time for me, and I'm likening the scriptures to myself. Ute fans: HOLY CRAP! THIS IS WHY I HATE YOU!!!! You can't make this up.

Lakers are unbearable to watch. Luka and Reaves flopping, foul-baiting, and complaining nonstop. Wouldn’t one get sick of playing with them and having to support them?

I’m rethinking jumping back into the NBA. Wow. I thought some Utah fans were bad! 😆

THIS. This is my beef with LDS Utah fans. Killing a kid, who is not of our faith, for trying to apply Christ to gain a different perspective is actually INSANE. Would love to hear some thoughts from Utah fans, honestly.

Is it a prerequisite to play for the Lakers? YOU MUST FLOP, look like a fool, AND COMPLAIN A LOT.

Struggling to feel good with Collier as our backup. The shot looks decent, but it’s just not going down. I just don’t love our bench in general. Like what is this lineup? Will probably just trying stuff.

Sports bros though
Three hours before kickoff today, the visiting fans set up tents at an elementary school outside Orlando and started unloading thousands of pounds of food. None of it was for them. All of it was for students at the school they came to play. The visitors were BYU. The food goes to the Knights Helping Knights Pantry at UCF, which started in 2009 as a class project and is now run by students for students. Last school year it gave out more than 185,000 pounds of food across nearly 60,000 visits. About 400 UCF students walk through it on an ordinary day. Roughly 35% of UCF students say they deal with some level of food insecurity. BYU fans have been doing this at road games since 2019. They call it Cougs Care, and the local alumni chapter picks the charity in whatever city the team is playing in. Last November in Lubbock they ran a book drive with Texas Tech fans for Literacy Lubbock. It was supposed to be one tailgate. It turned into a week. Here is what the Texas Tech side said about that. "Everyone wanted to help, so we decided to make this a weeklong event." They collected more than 6,000 books. Andy Reid went to Brigham Young University. Patrick Mahomes went to Texas Tech. Both of them pushed it online. In Ames, Iowa they collected coats, shoes and blankets, and they did it in the name of a man from Des Moines named Charles Good, who in 1856 gave new boots to a group of children walking west. They were paying back a stranger 169 years later. At East Carolina they filled the Purple Pantry with more than 5,000 pounds. Tyler Stahle of BYU posted pictures from under the tent in Oviedo this afternoon while the food was still coming in. Last season the whole thing brought in 76,500 pounds, which was 15 times what it collected the year before, and the number of people taking part doubled to 26,500. The last time BYU played in Orlando, two years ago, fans left about 2,000 pounds for this same pantry. The tailgate was open to both sides, and UCF fans came and gave to their own pantry alongside them. Be honest about the size of it. One tailgate does not fix a campus where a third of the students are short on food, and the University of Central Florida is one of the largest schools in the country. The drive is also run by BYU's own alumni association, which means it is good for BYU too. And the pantry is not the only thing on that campus that needs filling. BYU lost today. UCF won 39 to 31 in double overtime. The food was already stacked on the tables by then. The cans were counted, the bags were loaded, and none of those people knew yet whether they had driven across the country to watch their team lose. They handed it over before they knew. When was the last time somebody did something for you with nothing in it for them. Thanks to @tstahle15 for sharing this story!

This is going to sound really dumb. I swear I’m cursed. Haven’t ever watched Utah hardly at all. See they’re down 10-0. Turn it on. They proceed to run 6 plays for 5 first downs and a TD. Just not my day.

Three things that were worse about Kansas 2024 than tonight: - home game - I was there - cold af Other than that, tonight was definitely worse.

Just like we said last week: That’s why you don’t leave the outcome in the hands of the referees.
