From Jill's upholstery prints to the people flashing on the lawn, to the carnival instead of Christmas.
Revolting, off putting, insulting, on purpose.
Take another breath.
Look at where we are now.
Think of all the celebrations of 250 across the Nation.
The fun of welcoming the world for the World Cup and all the tourists sharing their excitement not only for the matches but for discovering America, the real one.
You and me.
Don't tell me you haven't felt the incredible shift back to normal, merit, beauty, competition and achievement.
Patriotism fully flown. Humor is back, an appreciation in the smallest daily things we all too often overlook, like ice and free refills.
Is there work to be done?
Of course, there always will be.
Just remember that every step of the way deserves a moment of acknowledging how far we've come too.
Carry that with you.

My son went to an IUFB specialist prospect camp as an incoming 8th grader. Half the size of everyone there, too young on paper, not really a kicker but he was coming for the afternoon RB camp and wanted to attend the morning session to get more time in with the staff. The girls working the check in table giggled a little when he came through the line. He had barely done any kicking before, was the worst one there, skipped lunch and the recruiting mingle to work on the field by himself kicking field goals. Went through final reps in a line full of guys with stars, was the hype guy and undaunted. When he finally got one through the goalposts after missing several in front of a bunch of ranked guys, they circled him and went crazy. He learned a lot from those guys that day as well.
After camp, with real recruits waiting for his attention - Coach Inge made it a point to spend a little time with him - treated him like a five star and told him to keep working and keep showing up, lean on his mindset and work ethic, his faith.
Chris stayed for the afternoon camp, the check-in girls were rooting for him by the time he came back through the line. He came back every year. He went on to come back four years and 100 pounds of mostly muscle later with a -4.4 40 time, and earned a PWO offer from CTA. He ultimately decided to pursue a career in military and law enforcement, but in a moment where he could’ve left defeated and given up - he listened, and left even more determined and walking a little taller. They kept in touch a little here for a while after Coach moved on from IU.
He still talks about Coach Inge. He is a big part of, and a pivotal moment in his football and life story and he made an impression on him that day. He didn’t have to spend any time on Chris - instead he taught him how to kick and sent him home feeling respected and seen, encouraged, with his head held high. He took that energy home to his team and treated everyone below him on the depth chart and roster the way he was treated that day. He continues to do so in his professional life.
Coach Inge is a real one. A genuinely good man. There’s no way to quantify his impact on the countless young men who have passed through his programs.
Our family has prayed for him many times over the years and we keep him in our prayers now. Hoosier love for Coach 🫶🏽🦬

True story. I used to vote Democrat. I was one of those Bill Clinton type of Democrats. The Democratic Party left me.
I’m not voting Republican at a spite. There are a lot of Republican politicians in the party that I absolutely hate. That being said, this isn’t about a personal expression for me. This isn’t about a jersey. This is a pragmatic decision on my part. This is politics.
People need to understand that when they go to the polls. It’s about who has the best interest for our country right now. And right now the Republican Party, all flaws and all, are the best ones right now.

March 16.
A single MC-130 Combat Talon dove through the gray clouds and slammed its tires directly onto a narrow, sludge-covered strip of cracked tarmac.
Out jumped the 353rd Special Tactics Group. Combat Controllers.
They didn't carry rifles.
They carried heavy steel tow cables and shovels.
They hooked roaring Humvees to crushed cars and dragged them violently off the runway!
Where machines couldn't reach, burly airmen threw their shoulders against overturned delivery vans, screaming in unison, flipping them into the grass by sheer human will!
They picked up razor-sharp metal debris with their bare hands in the freezing rain.
Six months?
THEY REOPENED THE AIRPORT IN NINE DAYS.
NINE. DAYS.
And the very first giant C-130 that roared down that runway didn’t carry weapons.
It carried warm food, milk, and medicine for OUR freezing children.
A few days later, a US Air Force colonel flying overhead looked down at the beach beside the runway and choked up.
Japanese survivors—people who had lost their homes, their cars, and their loved ones—had spent their last strength dragging massive logs across the sand.
They spelled out one word, readable only from the sky:
A R I G A T O .
The colonel wept and said: “We are the ones who should be thanking you.”
In 1945, our nations were at war.
In 2011, America bled in the mud to save us.
