Tonight, I was honored to join Philibert Kitchen and Chef B Good Food for their 4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner. Thank you to Chef Kamal, Chef B, and everyone who helped bring our community together for such a meaningful evening. 💗
To everyone who shared their experiences, thank you for being strong and brave. They were heartbreaking, encouraging, and full of hope sometimes all at once. Your honesty, strength, and love for the people beside you will stay with me.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please, make time for your health. If you’re due for a mammogram, schedule it. If you’ve noticed a change, get it checked. And remind someone you love to do the same.
These stories also remind us why decisions in Washington matter. Last year, Congress cut $20 million from the Department of Defense’s Breast Cancer Research Program. Families facing cancer deserve sustained investment in the research that could give them more time, better treatments, and a future together.
To everyone living with breast cancer, to survivors, caregivers, and those carrying the loss of someone they love you deserve support long after October ends.
I’ll carry your stories with me and keep fighting for you.
