THIS. Everyone wants to run hitting sessions and call pitches in year 1. Crawl - Walk - Run. Not bc you have to “pay your dues” - but you literally need to learn how to do everything if you want to coach. Running a program or being a full time assistant means you have to be able to wear so many hats. And the super corny, albeit very true “if you’re too big for the small things, you’re too small for the big things” runs true for 99.9% of head coaches (don’t check my math 🤣)

"This is the team I'm most proud of making it to the WCWS," Kelly Inouye-Perez on @BigTenNetwork today. Credits Lisa Fernandez on changing the mindset around the offense that just because you can hit a pitch doesn't mean you should, they've shrunk the zone. Inouye-Perez has won 9 National Championships for @UCLASoftball as a player, assistant coach and head coach. She said it all comes down to which team can settle in and play their game the fastest.

Delainey Everett just had the quote of the post season, “an underdog is still a DAWG!” Everett’s first complete game of her career was handing Oklahoma’s first shutout since 2019. She did it on her parent’s wedding anniversary in honor of her father who passed away last year. Sports are special.🥹
