@JessMacAI is a Canadian queer interdisciplinary artist whose practice moves between animation, GIFs, video, performance, drawing, installation, and digital media. Their work inhabits the strange territory between the intimate and the political, using humour, absurdity, vulnerability, and the uncanny to explore embodiment, trauma, gender, and systems of power. With a practice deeply rooted in internet culture and image circulation, MacCormack treats the digital not simply as a technology but as a space where identities can be performed, fragmented, transformed, and shared. More recently, Jess has incorporated AI into their practice, using generative imagery to explore dissociation, identity, gender, and the uncanny transformations of bodies and images.
