7 quarts (7L) of rich coloured canned apple sauce made with apples me and my family picked.
Don’t you love the colour? 🍎
I am turning 10 quarts (10 litres) of the second apple from left top row into apple sauce this morning.
After the simmer is complete I’ll put this pulp through a foodmill to remove the skin and core.
I expect to can about 7 quarts after all is said and done. There’s about 3lbs in a quart so 21lbs of apple sauce!

Wooooo morning!
Worked up a good sweat with this mornings workout.
Two months ago I started exercising and stretching while my gunpowder green tea brews and steeps.
Rather than doom scroll, choosing to keep the phone closed moving the body instead.
Everyday I hit 10 to 25 minutes.
Combined with gardening and household chores for age 52, soon to be 53, I’m doing ok.
This is the new sobriety I’m chasing.
I’m already sober off of drugs and alcohol for 21 years and 14 years respectively.
It’s time to be sober with body movement and keep a daily routine.
Everyday.

The milk cartons are maturing down in the garden by the Bay.
The whole milk is the most sun bleached and is quickly approaching the proper harvest colour.
The chocolate milk and 2% will hopefully catch up this week.
Planted 6 milk cartons the other day.
And the whole milk is growing best when compared to the both the chocolate milk and 2% milk.

The kitchen is getting cozy with this addition of tomatoes that the daughter and I picked this morning.
This is not a bad problem to have.
I picked and sorted 75lbs of tomatoes today.
I hope they ripen properly as there was a tiny bit of damage.
Last night was very cold, about 5°C for a few hours. But tonight there is an actual -
❗️warm-weather-plant-kill-frost❗️
arriving with the expected 2°C low.
The bean plants didn’t make out as well as the tomato plants did last night as you can see in the video.
And, is it sheer coincidence that the kill frost of 2025 arrived on the same damn date!
Last year I lost about 200lbs of tomatoes to frost damage.
Not this year!
In the next post I’ll share the ghosts 👻🍅💚

This applesauce is too thin.
I love the colour though.
I’ve got a small bag of apples that I was going to process today anyways so I’ll mix the two together and thicken this sauce up!
Another canning day today!
Back at it making more apple sauce with wild apples that I foraged.
This time I’m using the first one on the left in the bottom row.
