- "One of the latest models is so powerful that its maker won't release it to the public" - FT confirmed it was capacity issues - "OpenAI and Anthropic say their most powerful AI coding models are now building themselves" no they're not unless you define "coding tools being used by people" as "building themselves," which is hyperbole What's going on Jim, what're you on about

Pathetic and embarrassing post Jim. It reads like AI-generated slop that could have been on an affiliate marketing landing page ("Six facts. No hyperbole..."). And instead of doing journalism, you seem to be taking these companies' claims at face value and hyping them as much as possible. It is indeed hyperbole to say that AI models are "building themselves." If companies create an AI coding tool, and then use it themselves to code their own product, it would always fit that definition. It doesn't have the sci fi implications you're imagining.

1. Rightly so; it's a new software category in the age of instant online distribution. 2. An embellished claim was debunked by cybersecurity experts within days. 3. That's an inaccurate characterization of how agentic coding works. 4. Some are sensationalizing more too. 5. A very sad consequence of rampant hysteria. 6. Speculation is indeed high.

This is a lot of hyperbole instead of none.

The '$2T software rout' is doing real work in fact 6. Most of it is multiple compression. Names trading at 25x sales in 2024 came back to 12x. Actual job displacement from AI is real but concentrated in dev tools. Equity multiples and labor markets are not the same proxy.

Unless you’re an expert, I would stick to doing what you know best which is politics. AI technology is not ready, has many dangerous risks, & is being shoved down our throats by a bunch of greedy technology companies that are looking for deregulation. Wake up Jim!

There were not two targeted attacks on Altman’s house. The second one has been completely silenced, and the police have not released any official statement. OpenAI said Sam was not the target.
