I'll be keeping an eye out as I continue playing every Mario game, but I think 64 DS might be the last time a game referred to Peach as Toadstool. The opening letter is unchanged from the N64 original, plus there's at least 1 new line of dialogue that refers to her by that name

Update
I never would've thought Mario Pinball Land could make me rage quit, but after several failed attempts at the final boss I think I'm content to never play it again. This is only the second game on the list of chronological Mario games where I've given up on the final boss.

I'd recommend checking out this TAS for the game. It's the only game I'm aware of where even the TAS appears to struggle. With the exception of a few moments of frame perfect inputs, it just kinda looks like someone who's pretty good at the game

Had a dream where Google introduced a new AI feature that you couldn't opt out of that would alter the wording of your searches to the simplest form possible. So I would search "most expensive edible mushroom in the USA" but it kept reducing it to "MUSHROOM! GOOD! EXPENSIVE?"

I've beat TTYD a good 5-6 times, but this is my first time going for 100%. Every badge, recipe, tattle, trouble center, Shine Sprite, star piece, Pit of 100 Trials, as well as talking to every NPC with & without Goombella. Only thing I skipped was max level, which is 99.

Replaying TTYD while talking to every NPC, and I definitely didn't get this reference as a kid. I can't imagine many other people outside of Japan would've caught it back in 2004.
