New Yorkers have been using fire hydrants to cool off for more than a century. 💦
During a deadly heatwave in 1896, the fire dept opened hydrants to spray down the streets. Parents brought their children to enjoy this makeshift waterpark, and the rest is history! #SummerSolstice
