There were 3 century-unique scorigamis last night, making 6 total this season: scoreboard.homestead.com/foo…

When Riverton Parke beat South Vermillion 61-6 last night, it was pointed out that was the same score as last year's game. It apparently is not a rarity. I have five other matchups that had the same score this year as last year: --Knightstown 59, Union County 0 --Eastside 42, Fremont 13 --Adams Central 14, Heritage 7 --West Central 36, North Newton 7 --East Noble 35, Norwell 0 I found 169 total matchups that had same scores in successive years over the past 33 years. In 1996 and 1997, Providence beat Corydon Central 28-6 three times (once in a sectional). I'm having trouble believing any of this. From now on, I'll just use last year's score as my prediction.

Until last night's Goshen-Plymouth game, there had not been a 5-2 football score at least back through 1994, where my scores start. There have been two 3-2 scores, but not a 5-2 score. This year's 21st Century-unique scores are in this file: scoreboard.homestead.com/foo…

West Lafayette has started the football season 0-4, losing two 3-pointers and two 1-pointers. I found just 9 teams (since 1994) losing as many as 4 games by 3 or fewer points over an entire season. Yorktown lost 5 such games in 1997. Concord lost 4 close games in 1999, including 3 straight. In 2010, New Albany lost 4 games totaling 5 points, including 61-60 and 48-47 losses to Floyd Central.

I have updated my girls and boys basketball sites with every schedule I have received so far. If you sent me anything in the past 2 weeks, I failed to receive it because my email service was disrupted. My email has now reverted back to the original address of john_harrell@comcast.net (that's an underscore in my name and not a dot). Anyone sending me schedules and info must now use that email for me to receive it. Thanks. -----

Looking at some colorized footage of the 1954 World Series, Game 1. In the first inning, the Indians had runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 out. Maglie goes into his windup while pitching to Wertz, and the runner on 1st (Avila) holds! That would never happen today, of course. Wertz triples home the Indians' first 2 runs.

I was binge-watching The Closer, and in one episode a Fort Wayne man was killed in a area near LA. The victim's young son mentioned Pokagon State Park, only he pronounced it POKE-a-gone, rather than po-KAY-gun. It seems Hollywood could check out Midwest pronunciations.
