Nothing of interest really.

They simply don’t care. You couldn’t hate them more. #Labour
Charlie Ireland was supposed to meet with representatives of the Labour Party including 'The Labour Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' to discuss farming & agriculture. They’ve cancelled on him, for the third time.

Brent crude currently $96 a barrel. The last time it was this price diesel was £144.9 at the pumps. Any chance of an official government liar explaining the current price of £2 per litre? Asking for 42 million motorists

Don’t know about you, but it seems rather strange that no one seems to mention the 3rd biggest industry in the UK at conference.. 🙈 #Hospitality

With 161 pubs closing in the first quarter of 2026, as a result of Labour’s attack on the hospitality sector, it is not surprising that even brilliant breweries like Sharps - who brew the world famous Doom Bar cask ale in Cornwall - are closing too.
BREAKING: Cornwall’s world-famous Sharps Brewery, which produces the ‘Doom Bar’ cask ale, to close with all jobs lost - owners cite ‘very challenging trading conditions’ (via @ITVNews) itv.com/news/westcountry/202…

This government is allowing unrestricted imports of rip-off Chinese cars to take over our roads. And it’s destroying yet another iconic British brand and major exporter. The ‘Temu Range Rover’ or Jaecoo 7, has topped the UK new-car sales charts for the second time in 2026. These are half the price of real Jaguar Land Rover cars. So canny customers can now bag a blatant copy and save a few bob. But at what price to UK manufacturing, jobs, the wider economy and our security when highly skilled workers are being laid off at JLR and all the way up and down the supply chain. Plus....The UK has shut over half of its diesel refineries while China has now cut its exports of Diesel. The JAECOO 7 is only available as a plug-in hybrid or petrol model. How can our politicians be so short sighted? dailymail.com/money/cars/art…

They could fix this today. But they simply don’t care. Disgrace. #VATStheproblem
Finally received a written response from a Govt Treasury Minister - first one so far - about VAT rates for UK hospitality businesses. It is so patronising and clueless, I don't even know where to start. But if you care about small independent restaurants, cafes, bars and hotels in your area staying open, please join @UKHofficial's #VATsTheProblem campaign - backed by leading chefs. Write to your own MP leading up to the Budget on 28th October. 3 or 4 establishments are closing every single day, that's a lot of people out of work!

Price cap has just increased by £60 that breathing space is the price cap going up by 4%.
From today we’re removing tax from your electricity bills. We are acting to give people some breathing space where we can, while we make the long-term changes needed to strengthen Britain’s resilience against global economic shocks.

Burnham says VAT “is coming off energy bills this week”. Nope. VAT is off electricity. Just over £40 a year. BUT energy price cap is going up - an extra £60 a year. In January, energy price cap goes up 24%. Labour is doing less than zero to help people.

We are being fleeced. By the corporations who sell our petrol and diesel. By our own government.

£100 a week just to put diesel in the car so I can get to work. A hundred quid. Every single week. From Monday 28th September through to Saturday 31st October that's £500 gone on fuel alone. Half a grand. The energy companies are stuffing billions into their pockets from people like me. The fat cats get fatter. I get poorer and this government couldn't give a shite. That's the country we're living in. I'm literally just forgotten about.

A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray (1988) Still one of my all-time favourites! Was in the UK Singles Top 100 Chart for 18 weeks, peaking at #12. In '89 Music Week and the British Phonographic Industry awarded the track Best Selling Independent Single of 1989. Hacienda anthem.
