Another Summer has come and gone in Santa Monica. Theft and arrests have increased. Retail sales on 3rd Street Promenade have decreased. Tourism and hotel occupancy are down. Horror movies play out in the 3 Downtown parks day and night, as the Venice Family Clinic continues to hand out drug paraphernalia. City Attorney, City Manager and EVERY Council Member look the other way and continue shelling out homeless grant money. Hallmarks of success for City Staff and its nonprofits.

After 20 months LA Mayor Karen Bass is slowly admitting the City and State errors that decimated Pacific Palisades. Bass has no choice, really. The city and state attempted to shut down discovery. They failed. The discovery we already have is extraordinarily problematic. The city and state are grossly negligent bordering on criminal behavior. So, here we are. There’s an election in 2 months followed by a whirlwind of discovery, a trial and the largest jury settlement against a municipality for extreme negligence of all time. This will happen if the city and state don’t settle. Why do I want settlement? Because the longer we wait, the more this disproportionately impacts older people and those who can’t otherwise afford to return. We want everyone home. Now is the time to act, and giving up a little for expediency and my neighbors wellbeing is more than worth it. This video is wild. Starts with some level of accepting accountability but devolves into more misdirection. Without transparency, we are doomed to repeat this mess.
