🚨 Hurricane Isaias will make landfall TONIGHT in the Western Florida Panhandle and Eastern Alabama. Alerts are in effect from Birmingham down to Mobile and out east to Tallahassee. Isaias is currently a Category 3 with sustained winds up to 120mph. There is an elevated tornado risk across the Western Florida Panhandle, along with portions of Georgia and Alabama. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter! Preparations should be almost, if not already, finished. Landfall is expected this evening. The NWS in Salt Lake City has released their preliminary damage survey for the #tornado over Francis Peak on September 18th, and it is astonishing! In the yellow circle, peak winds of 120 MPH knocked down 100-200 year old trees in the mountains, and the tornado reached an astonishing 1.1 miles wide, a new State record by 0.6 miles! Results are preliminary and may change, courtesy of NWS Salt Lake City. #weather #utwx
